He used it the same day

Set it up in the morning and he was sitting on the rim by lunchtime. He's always been a faucet bird he'd rather drink out of the tap than out of his bowl so I hoped he'd take to it. He drinks a lot more now, and the difference is I actually see him do it.

I bought it for the water, we got a bath too

I've bought four different bird baths over the years and my conure ignored every single one of them. Two days after this arrived he was standing under the stream with his wings out, soaked. I honestly did not expect that part at all.

No more soup

My green cheek dunks every pellet he owns, so I was changing the water two or three times a day and it still looked disgusting by the afternoon. Now I top it up once and it's still clear in the evening. That on its own was worth the money.

Finally one that's made for birds

We'd been using a cat fountain because there was nothing else out there. It was too deep, there was a cord running right past the cage, and I was never comfortable with her feet on that rim. This one she can stand in properly. Completely different thing.

I can finally tell that she drank

Birds are so quiet about it that I don't think I ever once caught her drinking. I'd stand there looking at the bowl trying to work out whether the level had moved or whether she'd just splashed. Now I check the window on the front on my way out the door. Sounds like a small thing, it wasn't.

First weekend away in three years

Never left them overnight before not because of food, because the water was always vile by the next morning. Came back Sunday and it was still clean. My mum didn't have to drive over once.

Questions Bird Parents Ask Before Switching

Everything You Need To Know Before Your Bird Takes The First Sip

Clear answers about safety, cleaning, noise, bathing, filters, fit, and everyday use.

1. Will my bird actually use it?+

Most do, and usually faster than owners expect moving water is what their instinct goes for anyway, which is why so many birds would rather drink from a running tap than the bowl you filled that morning. That said, birds are suspicious of anything new. Some step straight on, some watch it from the far perch for a few days. Two things help: put it where the old bowl was, and leave the old bowl up for the first week so nobody feels forced. And if he genuinely won't touch it, send it back our 30-day guarantee has you covered.

2. Could my bird drown in it?+

No. The drinking surface is shallow 2 cm so a bird stands in it rather than falls into it. Experienced bird owners use a simple rule: the water should be low enough that a bird lying on its side still has its head clear. That's the depth this was built to.

3. Is there a cord my bird could chew?+

There isn't one. It's fully wireless and runs 14 days per charge, so there's nothing to gnaw on and nothing to plug in near the cage.

4. Is it loud? My bird spooks at everything.+

It runs at 25 dB quieter than a whisper, and far quieter than the vacuum most birds already survive. Nervous birds usually stop reacting to it within a day or two.

5. My bird dunks his food and perches above everything. Won't the water get filthy anyway?+

He'll still dunk that's a bird. The difference is the water doesn't sit there with it. It keeps cycling through a 3-layer carbon filter instead of stewing, so what he drinks an hour later is still clean. You'll rinse it out weekly, not three times a day.

6. Can he bathe in it? And doesn't that ruin the drinking water?+

Bathing in it is the point. The stream falls onto a shallow surface he can stand on, which is why birds that have refused every bath dish will step under this one. And because the water keeps filtering, a bath doesn't turn it into the bowl you'd have had to dump.

7. How much cleaning does it actually need?+

Five minutes, weekly. The parts rinse under the tap or go in the dishwasher, and the pump opens up and rinses through no fishing around with a toothpick for an impeller you can't reach.

8. How often do filters need replacing, and what do they cost?+

Every month. Replacement filters are $9.99 for a 3-pack, and a filter subscription is optional. One part, no tools, and no complicated maintenance routine.

9. Will it fit my cage and is it right for my bird's size?+

Dimensions are 24 × 18 × 18 cm. It suits budgies through large parrots, and it can sit in the cage, on the play stand, or right beside it. If you're between sizes, place it beside the cage or on the stand so your bird can approach it without changing the cage layout.

10. Do I still need to change the water every day?+

Not the way you do with a bowl. Top it up when it drops, rinse it out weekly, and change the filter on schedule. The reason a bowl needs daily changes is that whatever lands in it stays in it that's the part this removes.
