About BirbFlow about-us
Made with Birds in Mind
BirbFlow was created around an important question: how can bird owners make fresh, accessible drinking water part of their birds' everyday routine?
Birds Have Different Needs
Birds have different habits, behaviors, and physical needs from cats and dogs. Yet many water fountains available on the market are designed primarily for other pets.
A fountain designed for a cat may not automatically be the right fit for a bird. Bird owners need to consider the drinking surface, materials, stability, depth, cleaning requirements, and how their bird interacts with moving water.
BirbFlow was developed to address the need for a water fountain designed specifically with birds in mind.
Our goal is to make it easier for bird owners to provide accessible water while keeping everyday cleaning and maintenance in mind.
Designed Around Birds
From the drinking surface to water circulation and routine cleaning, the goal is to create a fountain that better accommodates the needs of birds and the people caring for them.
Our guiding idea: bird-care products should consider the birds who use them, not simply adapt products designed for other animals.
Why Not Just Use a Cat Fountain?
Cat fountains are built around the way cats interact with water. Birds can interact with water differently, so a product that works for one species should not automatically be assumed suitable for another.
Designed for Cats
Cat fountains are generally developed for feline drinking behavior. Their shape, water depth, access points, and materials may not suit every bird.
Bird owners should assess whether a fountain is appropriate for their bird rather than assuming that any pet fountain will be safe.
Considerations for Birds
Birds vary greatly in size, strength, and behavior. A bird-specific fountain should be evaluated for its accessible drinking surface, stability, cleanability, and suitability for the intended species.
BirbFlow was created to focus on these bird-care considerations rather than treating birds as small versions of other pets.
Fresh Water Still Requires Daily Attention
Circulating and filtering water can help manage some debris, but no filter should be relied upon to remove every contaminant. Droppings, food, and other contaminants can still enter a fountain.
Bird owners should check the water regularly, replace contaminated water immediately, and clean the fountain as needed. Filtration complements good hygiene; it does not replace it.
